The National Universities Commission (NUC) has launched the outcomes of the January, 2022 Accreditation train carried out for the 13 (13) educational programmes of the Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) that received interim accreditation in the course of the 2018 accreditation train. The University, based on the outcomes launched secured full accreditation for all of the 13 (13) programmes.

This was contained in a letter despatched to the University by means of the Vice Chancellor dated 14th April, 2022 with reference No: NUC/ES/412/VOL.14/43 titled “Results of the October/November 2021 Accreditation of Academic Programmes in Nigerian Universities” signed by the Director of Accreditation of the Commission, Dr. Maryam Sali on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary.

According to the letter, all of the 13 re-accredited programmes within the three (3) Faculties of Science, Humanities, and Education received full accreditation. The programmes had been Biochemistry, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Microbiology, Plant Science and Biotechnology, Physics, Zoology, English, Hausa, History and International Studies, Islamic Studies and Education Economics.

Commenting on the event, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Mu’azu Abubakar Gusau expressed his delight over the outcomes of the accreditation and thanked the Council, University Management and full employees for their efforts and contributions in direction of securing full accreditation for the entire re-accredited programmes.

While expressing his happiness with the outcomes, the Vice Chancellor additionally appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders who contributed in a method or one other to the success of the establishment in that regard.

It can be recalled that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mu’azu Abubakar Gusau, assumed responsibility because the third substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University in February, 2021 and on assumption of responsibility, he channeled most of his power in direction of the accreditation train as high precedence.
